This assignment's purpose was to learn about using Illustrator to create vector graphics. Vector graphics have a few advantages for logos over traditional raster graphics created via Photoshop, because they allow the logo to be infinitely scaled up without becoming pixelated.

My logo is based on my love of computers, depicting a monitor and a terminal prompt. For this logo, I am most proud of my alignment, which I spent majority of the time on. By using many guides (~20) and a monospaced font to space everything evenly, I aligned everything perfectly to the pixel.

This assignment was to make an ad in Photoshop. Mine was a movie poster for Interstellar 2.

The goal of the Green Screen Video assignment was to create a video using the green screen. My video used green screen to overlay multiple clips onto each other to create clones of the chracters. This was an interesting effect, but the ending scene with many clones was especially hard to make, due to the lag that would occur with editing so many clips together. This taught me the usage of green screen/chroma key and using Final Cut Pro X. This was also our first introduction to the Canon Rebel 5s and scriptwriting.

The assignment was to create a video using stop motion, a technique where multiple still images are stitched together rapidly to create a video. My video shows the story of a person building a shelter for the homeless.

Through this assignment, I learned to manipulate camera settings manually, through the ISO, aperature, and exposure controls. These manual controls allowed us to have all the pictures with a similar look, instead of some being exposed more than others. I was also further immersed into Final Cut Pro.

The soundscape assignment was to arrange a variety of sounds in order to represent a morning routine. The soundscape assignment taught us the basics of using Garageband to edit and create audio clips.

My soundscape represented the morning routine of a boy on a normal school day. He runs to school and gets there right on time.

This video was created in an effort to promote our school. My video is titled "What does Williams Offer?", showing most of the different rooms and activities that we offer. I'm most proud of the transitions between the different rooms, which were difficult to plan out and put together in post-production. This unit taught me to use Final Cut Pro X to a more advanced level, as I had to use many different techniques to mesh the different clips together. Although we didn't use interviews in our video, we were also introduced to using the XLR cables, Beachtek boxes, lav. kits, and Rode mics to conduct interviews.

The Mechanics of Cheating is a short mockumentary about a chronic cheater, and why he cheats. Since I didn't do any interviews in the promo video assignment, this was my first time actually using the microphones to conduct an interview. As well, I learned how to use two cameras at once, while keeping the audio synced using a clapper. Overall, I was very happy with the look of the interview scenes. I used the camera settings that we learned from the Stop Motion assignment to create a crisp and professional looking interview scene.
